Synopsis

A tribute performance to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the First Folio featuring the works of William Shakespeare. As Ham MacLear, a passionate Shakespeare veteran, begins to struggle with dementia, his long-time companions, Busker and Chorus, must navigate the delicate balance between honouring his legacy and ensuring his well-being. Through a series of clever and heartwarming attempts to help Ham as he confuses reality with his beloved plays, the trio must confront the harsh realities of aging and the inevitability of change. The Tragedy of Ham MacLear is a poignant exploration of the power of love, friendship, and the enduring impact of the arts, even in the face of life’s most challenging obstacles.

Each performance is followed by a post-show conversation about aging, dementia and care. We are supported by Alzheimer’s & Related Disorders Society of India (ARDSI) and Goodfellows India in our efforts to raise awareness about dementia.
